Pakistan conducted around 20,167 Covid-19 tests in a day


As the coronavirus situation worsened day by day, the Covid-19 testing capacity of Pakistan has reached 20,167 tests per day – this is a kind of operation that authorities have launched against the violators of SOPs (standard operating procedures) in various parts of the country.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan conducted 20,167 coronavirus tests on June 3 – it was the highest-ever number that was conducted in a single day; so far, the country wide Covid-19 tests reached a total of over 610,000. 

Pakistan’s tally has already surpassed China in terms of the number of Covid-19 patients, sadly 2,900 new coronavirus cases were detected whereas 64 people lost their lives in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to more than 86,000 and 1,793 deaths.

According to Asad Umar, minister for Planning and Development, the capacity of 30,000 tests per day is for Pakistan to control the spread of the Covid-19.
