The novel coronavirus has kept its limitless surge on Wednesday, taking away the lives of one lawmaker each from the KPK, and infecting around 4,772 people in a single day. The total number of cases has now reached 85,264.
Another worrisome development – 16 employees of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research Development tested positive, leading to the closure of its offices for the next two days.
Reportedly, the third and the Shaheed-i-Millat secretariat and the fourth floors of Pak Secretariat’s B block will remain closed today and tomorrow for disinfection. The affected employees have been told to quarantine themselves at their homes.
The only positive development is the country’s improving testing capacity.
Meanwhile, Sajid Shah, the spokesperson for the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS), has also tested positive for Covid-19.
