This is not the first time that the prices of petroleum products drop followed by the shortage of the commodities at the filling stations all over Peshawar and some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It has observed that many of the filling stations in Peshawar temporarily suspended oil supply to motorists, displaying notices of non-availability. However, the fuel was only available at the filling stations of Pakistan State Oil with long queues of vehicles and motorcyclists.
Workers at the filling stations informed the supply will be resumed by night as the long vehicles are not allowed to commute in the day time. About the sudden suspension of oil they said the stations ran short of the petroleum products soon after the cut in the prices by the government.
On the other hand, PSO said that there is no shortage of oil as such, the suspension of fuel stations due to the financial losses that usually ended up to owners of different filling stations, that’s the reason they stopped the purchase of fuel.
